Politically correct public relations double-standards

I don’t understand PR people sometimes. Maybe that’s because I took the traditional route of 10 years in the media before going into corporate. I’m not familiar with the back stabbing and cat fights others in PR practice.

Case in point. PR professionals came unglued when Killeen Furtney took the Octomom’s case. I did not follow it closely, but the agency’s credentials look impressive. Both are APR, one a PRSA fellow.

No public outcry when the music star who allegedly beat Rihanna hired Michael Sitrick. No public outcry when Octomom switched to Ambassador Speaker Bureau after Killeen Furtney resigned. Can someone explain the double-standards PR people set their ethics on?
